Dortmunder Energie- und Wasserversorgung GmbH (DEW21) has been supplying residents in and around Dortmund with natural gas, electricity, heat and water for more than 25 years.

The company attaches particular importance to sustainability, such as the development of a climate-friendly heat supply, the expansion of renewable energies, the promotion of electromobility, social commitment and the operation of drinking water wells.

Initial situation

DEW21 (Dortmunder Energie- und Wasserversorgungs GmbH) was looking for an innovative solution to speed up, improve the quality and make the existing personnel cost planning process, which was integrated with corporate planning software, more efficient. The conventional approach was extremely time-consuming and required not only a considerable amount of coordination, but also effort for the preparation of the planning results. In addition, the database was based on average values of personnel costs from the past. In future, it should be possible to carry out transparent and integrated operational personnel cost planning for around 1,200 employees (for three companies) using HR data from the SAP HCM system.

In order to optimize the future design of personnel costs and measures, DEW21 decided to switch to the PeoplePLAN SaaS solution from CubeServ. This solution is connected to the previous SAP HCM system via a powerful interface and enables more efficient planning of personnel resources and costs.

  • Detailed documentation of every personnel measure carried out to increase transparency and traceability for central personnel controlling.
  • Data interface to the corporate planning software.
